To mark International Flamenco Dance Day, Virginia Domínguez, director of C.P.D. Fortea, took part in an interview on Canal 24h to discuss the importance of this discipline and its role in training future flamenco dancers.

During the interview, it was highlighted that C.P.D. Fortea is the only school in the Community of Madrid to award the professional qualification in Flamenco Dance, a specialty that has been one of the school’s hallmarks since 2016.

This year, the celebration was held under the motto “Olé,” a universal word that captures the emotion, strength, and grandeur of Flamenco Dance, 15 years after UNESCO declared Flamenco an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.

Virginia Domínguez also highlighted the participation of leading figures in Flamenco Dance in the commemorative video produced by the conservatory, as well as the importance of bringing students closer to the legacy of such references as Antonio Canales, Currillo, María Esteve, Maribel Gallardo, Manolo Marín, Jose Maya, Judea Maya, Rubén Olmo, Luis Ortega, Blanca del Rey, and Mercedes Ruiz.
