As part of the “Medicine and Dance” program, our colleague Daniel Vizcayo, psychologist in the Student Care Department and teacher at the Conservatory, was one of the speakers in the event’s round-table discussions.

Daniel Vizcayo shared the panel with professionals such as María Pagés and El Arbi El Harti, directors of the Centro Danza Matadero; dancer and choreographer Joaquín de Luz; Arnaud Mahouy, general secretary of the Centre Chorégraphique National – Malandain Ballet Biarritz; Florent Cheymol, psychologist for the Paris Opera Ballet and the French Gymnastics Federation; Sabine Oxandaburu, project coordinator at the Institut Danse Santé; Àngels Margarit, dancer, choreographer, teacher, and curator; Nieves Portas, dancer, choreographer, and teacher; Roger Salas, dance and ballet critic for the newspaper El País; Manuel Leyes, traumatologist and orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine; Raúl Torres, orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip surgery; and Nazareth Castellanos, graduate in Theoretical Physics and PhD in Neuroscience.

The event, opened by Marta Rivera de la Cruz, Madrid City Council’s Delegate for Culture, Tourism and Sport, featured a performance by Juan Berlanga, artist in residence at the Center, choreographer, performing arts researcher, and member of the Ballet Nacional.
