A choreographer and bailaora, she is considered one of the leading figures of her generation for her commitment to the evolution of classicism in flamenco dance. Since 2003, she has directed her own company, with which she has created and staged 13 shows at prominent international theatres and festivals. She has been recognised with numerous awards, including the Córdoba National Award, the Seville Biennial Award, the European Dance Award ‘Movimentos’, and the Audience Award at the Jerez Festival. Furthermore, she has created choreographic works for the Ballet Nacional de España and for operatic productions such as Carmen and La Traviata.
