Repertory Director at American Ballet Theatre. He began his training at the Víctor Ullate School, later joining the company for ten years, seven of them as a principal dancer. In 2001, he joined American Ballet Theatre, where he was promoted to soloist in 2003. He has received major distinctions, including the Silver Medal at the Paris International Ballet Competition (1996) and the Les Étoiles de Ballet 2000 Award in Cannes (2004), and has also appeared as a guest artist with prestigious international companies.
An ABT National Training Curriculum Certified Teacher, he joined the faculty of ABT Studio Company in 2013 and was appointed Repertory Director in 2016. He has taught artists including Alexei Ratmansky, Twyla Tharp, Wayne McGregor, Christopher Wheeldon and Cathy Marston, among others, and has served as a guest teacher at Boston Ballet, Ballet West, Harvard University and the Compañía Nacional de Danza.
In 2020, he was recognised for his innovative work in online ballet teaching, which received extensive international coverage from publications including The New York Times, The New Yorker, National Geographic and the Chicago Tribune, and he was featured in Apple’s “Creativity Goes On” campaign.
